Electric go-kart

A while ago I discussed with a friend the idea of mounting an electric motor on a shopping cart for some kind of racing vehicle. This led to the plan to create an "electric go-kart" as a final project. Since it was not immediately possible to obtain a shopping cart and then add different wheels and a steering wheel, I decided to work with something that already had these components, namely a standard go-kart. I then transformed this kart into an electric vehicle with additions such as Bluetooth speakers, a speedometer, LED lights and a system to monitor battery percentages via a Web page.

This project involves a combination of programming, PCB design and manual labor. The electronics and motor are powered by four car batteries, with the electronics themselves placed in an iron enclosure to provide protection from rain and dirt. The biggest challenge lies in finding a suitable motor, programming all the electronics so that everything works together correctly, as well as carefully placing all the components on the go-kart to still make the vehicle easily drivable.

The final work will describe the process step by step, from the initial stages to the final result. Although I expect the project will have its ups and downs, I see this as an exciting challenge.
